Dr. Martin Maresch is an enthusiastic Senior Consultant Vascular & Endovascular Surgeon in BDF Hospital, Bahrain. Dr. Ahmad Ameer, a Consultant in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Kuwait Hospital, is dual board-certified in General and Vascular Surgery from McGill and Ottawa Universities. Prof. Mert Dumantepe is an Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Surgery at Acibadem University School of Medicine. Prof. Dumantepe completed his graduation from Istanbul University School of Medicine, Turkey in 2001. Prof. Dumantepe was trained in Dr. Siyami Ersek’s Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Research and Training Hospital. Dr. Ibrahim Riza is a highly-experienced consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon who completed his surgical and vascular surgical training in the UK, at centers of excellence such as the Royal Liverpool University and the South Manchester University hospitals. Prior to joining Mediclinic, Dr. Riza worked in UK’s NHS, where he was the clinical director of Vascular Services at the Pennine Acute Hospitals in Greater Manchester, in the tertiary vascular unit, where Dr. Riza led the development and merger of vascular services in Greater Manchester, including the commissioning of a state-of-the-art Hybrid OR. Professor Sherif Essam, graduated from Faculty of medicine, Ain Shams University in 1995. Kaji Sritharan is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon, Educationalist and Emeritus Associate Dean of the Royal Society of Medicine. She qualified from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School London, in 2001, and undertook her SHO training in London. In 2007, she completed and was awarded an MD (Res) in Vascular Biology and a DIC from Imperial College. She subsequently undertook her higher surgical training on the Northwest Thames rotation, with endovascular fellowships in Brisbane, Australia and post-CCT fellowships in Vascular centres in Malmo, Sweden and Bad-Krozingen, Germany; for which she was awarded the prestigious Moynihan Travelling Fellowship from the ASGBI.

Dr. Abdel Aal undertook his initial medical studies in Egypt before emigrating to France where he received his postgraduate training in Tours University Hospital. Dr. Emad El Din Hussein is a prominent vascular and endovascular surgeon known for his work at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, and as the founder and first president of the Vascular Society of Egypt. He is also the founder of the vascular surgery department and program at Aswan University. He entered Basic Surgical Training in 2007, completed an MD by thesis in 2011, and entered the higher Surgical training scheme in 2013. During training he completed the MRCS in 2009 and FRCSI in 2018. Mr Medani was attracted early on to the specialty of vascular surgery. Thoracic outlet syndrome is a notoriously challenging syndrome with debilitating effects on a mainly young and otherwise healthy population of patients. Many Irish patients with this syndrome were previously referred abroad for definitive treatment. Recognising this deficit in the Irish health care setting, Mr Medani completed an international fellowship at University of Toronto. The focus of the fellowship was on this syndrome. Prof. Mert Dumantepe is an Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Surgery at Acibadem University School of Medicine. Prof. Dumantepe completed his graduation from Istanbul University School of Medicine, Turkey in 2001. Dr. Efthymios (Makis) Avgerinos is a Vascular Surgeon, Professor of Surgery in the Division of Vascular Surgery, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in USA. He was born in Athens, Greece in 1975. In 2001 he earned his medical degree from the University of Thessaly Medical School (Greece), and in 2006 his Ph.D. from the University of Athens. In 2011 he completed his residency in Vascular Surgery at the Department of Vascular Surgery of the University of Athens, Greece. During his residency years, he had short clinical fellowships in King's Hospital, London, UK and in Stadtische Kliniken, Frankfurt, Germany. Dr. Avgerinos got certified by the European Board of Vascular Surgery (FEBVS) in 2012. Since 2011 and up to 2021 he has been working in USA. In September 2020 he returned to Greece and he is currently co-Director of the Clinic of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Athens Medical Center and visiting Professor of Vascular Surgery at the University of Athens. Dr. Avgerinos has published more than 200 peer reviewed papers and chapters in vascular surgery and his work has been widely cited and recognized with international awards. He has served in the Executive Councils of the European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS), European Union of Medical Specialties (UEMS) and International Society for Vascular Surgery (ISVS).

Houman Jalaie led the establishment of a program for venous surgery and intervention which grew to be one of the largest in Europe. In July 2019, he was appointed as the Director of the European Venous Center. He is course director of the venous section of the European Vascular Course (EVC) in Maastricht. Additionally, in 2019, Dr. Jalaie was appointed as the Head of the Phlebology Commission of the German Society for Vascular & Endovascular Surgery. His special interests revolve around the treatment of DVT and PTS. Dr. Jalaie has been a principal or co-investigator in several clinical trials and studies involving interventional treatment of DVT and PTS. To date, he has authored or co-authored more than 100 different scientific publications, abstracts, and book chapters. His latest papers cover innovations in endovascular treatment of deep venous pathologies and its outcome. He has given over 400 guest lectures at national and international meetings.

I have been working at the Center of General and Vascular Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Center of Phlebology and Aesthetic Medicine in Gorzów Wlkp., Poland. I graduated the Medical University of Karol Marcinkowski in Pozna?, Poland in 2004, obtained the title of doctor of medical sciences in 2010, the title of specialist in gynecology and obstetrics in 2012 and the title of specialist in general surgery in 2017. I graduated the Postgraduate School of Aesthetic Medicine in Warsaw in 2019 and got the title of the aesthetic medicine doctor. I am the member of the Executive Commitee of the Polish Society of Phlebology and the member of many Scientific Societies in Poland and abroad. Dr. Samer Koussayer currently is a consultant and the Program director of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery fellowship program at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (Riyadh, KSA). Dr. Koussayer is also an associate Professor and teaching Faculty at the Al Faisal University, College of Medicine. Dr . Koussayer completed his residency in General Surgery at the Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, and in Vascular Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Koussayer also did specialized fellowship in Endovascular surgery with Dr Edward B. Diethrich at Arizona heart institute in Arizona. Dr . Koussayer is American board certified in vascular surgery since 2000 and has more than 23 years’ experience in all aspect of vascular and endovascular surgery. Dr. Hideaki Obara is an Associate Professor of Vascular Surgery at Keio University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan, and serves as Head of the Vascular Surgery Division. He is also a Board Member of the Japanese Society for Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Obara is a board-certified vascular surgeon with expertise in open, endovascular, and hybrid vascular procedures, covering a broad range of vascular diseases.

Prof. Taha earned his Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery from Kasr Al-Ainy School of Medicine, Cairo University, in 1986. Prof. Taha has held several significant managerial positions throughout his career trajectory. Notable among these are his roles as the General Director of the New Kasr El-Aini Teaching Hospital (2017-2019), the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cairo University Hospitals (2019-2021), and the Chief of Surgery (2021-2023). Furthermore, he is esteemed as the Founder and President of the Egyptian Association of Diabetic Foot and Limb Salvage.

Dr. ElKerdawi is a vascular and endovascular surgeon who specializes in

advanced endovascular and open surgery for critical limb ischemia and

diabetic atherosclerotic disease. He also has extensive experience in complex endovascular surgery for aortic aneurysms and lower extremity occlusive disease, as well as hybrid surgical techniques for PVD, varicose veins, and dialysis access. Dr. ElKerdawi earned his undergraduate degree at Alexandria University and his post grade medical degree at Ain Shams University, Egypt. He completed his endovascular and vascular surgery training at university of Barcelona and Galway university Hospital of Ireland and fellowship training both aforementioned universities. After completing his training, he joined the University of Ain Shams and Helwan as a staff vascular and endovascular surgeon. Prof Mohamed Hosni, professor of vascular and endovascular surgery in Cairo University teaching Hospitals (Kasr Al Ainy). Prof Hosni is pioneer in endovascular aortic interventions, and he introduced the complex aortic endovascular procedures to the Middle East and Africa. Prof Hosni is president of Egyptian Vascular and Endovascular Society and President of one of the biggest vascular conferences in Middle East and Africa (IMAC-Intervention Master Aortic Course). With over 15 years of consultant-level experience treating vascular disease, Prof. Mohamed Baguneid specializes in aortic, carotid, and peripheral artery disease. Prof. Baguneid graduated from the University of Manchester and achieved his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons. Prof. Baguneid’s novel research into tissue engineering of blood vessels between Manchester Royal Infirmary and Royal Free Hospital, London, earned him a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from the University of Manchester. Prof. Baguneid also received a Master’s Degree with merit in Business Administration from the Alliance Manchester Business School. Since moving to the UAE, Prof. Baguneid has helped shape diabetic foot services and advanced vascular surgery in the region. Prof. Baguneid has published and presented widely on many aspects of vascular surgery including oncovascular surgery. Prof. Baguneid provides support to regional surgical oncology teams and has taught many consultants to perform a wide range of complex vascular treatments. Dr. Khaled Abdel Aal is a French vascular and endovascular surgeon with 30 years of experience. Dr. Abdel Aal undertook his initial medical studies in Egypt before emigrating to France where he received his postgraduate training in Tours University Hospital. Dr. Abdel Aal has obtained several diplomas during his career, including Microsurgery, Open Complicated Techniques and Recent Endovascular Techniques. Dr. Abdel Aal has more than 20 years of experience in endovascular procedures and has practiced with the most famous French and European vascular surgeons in Paris. Dr. Abdel Aal has published more than 25 pieces of research published, and given more than 40 scientific international lectures. Dr. Abdel Aal also founded a state-of-the-art department of Vascular Surgery in the National Institute of Diabetes in Cairo, with application of the most recent endovascular techniques for diabetic patients.

Serving as the President of the Emirates Vascular Surgery Society, Dr. Al Qedra have demonstrated outstanding leadership, fostering collaboration among professionals, and driving advancements in research and education. With over 15 years of consultant-level experience treating vascular disease, Prof. Mohamed Baguneid specializes in aortic, carotid, and peripheral artery disease. Prof. Baguneid graduated from the University of Manchester and achieved his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons. Prof. Baguneid’s novel research into tissue engineering of blood vessels between Manchester Royal Infirmary and Royal Free Hospital, London, earned him a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from the University of Manchester. Prof. Baguneid also received a Master’s Degree with merit in Business Administration from the Alliance Manchester Business School. Since moving to the UAE, Prof. Baguneid has helped shape diabetic foot services and advanced vascular surgery in the region. Prof. Baguneid has published and presented widely on many aspects of vascular surgery including oncovascular surgery. Prof. Baguneid provides support to regional surgical oncology teams and has taught many consultants to perform a wide range of complex vascular treatments. In addition, Prof. Baguneid trains surgeons in the art of managing vascular trauma in international workshops and conferences. As a clinical leader, Prof. Baguneid has held many senior leadership roles in the UK and the UAE. Shortly after becoming a consultant, Prof. Baguneid was appointed Clinical Director of Vascular Surgery at University Teaching Hospital in Manchester and was involved in the reconfiguration of regional vascular services. Later on, Prof. Baguneid was appointed as Medical Director of a large service transformation program in the UK. Prof. Baguneid was the Chair of Surgery in Al Ain Hospital and also worked with the SEHA Transformation Team on region-wide healthcare changes before joining SSMC. Prof. Baguneid has published over 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals and is the editor of the Oxford Handbook of Key Clinical Evidence and the Oxford Handbook of Surgical Guidelines.

Dr. Sergio Mazzei is an Italian-born, Dubai-based Specialist General Surgeon, renowned for his expertise in advanced wound care for chronic conditions like diabetic foot ulcers, surgical complications, and venous ulcers, using innovative techniques like PRP and NPWT. A highly qualified surgeon with an MD and postgraduate diploma from Italy, he has worked at top Italian institutions and in Dubai, serving as a trusted doctor for the Italian Consulate and receiving Italy's prestigious Cavaliere award

Prof. Clark Zeebregts is a vascular surgeon and professor of vascular surgery since 2010. During the years Prof. Zeebregts is working at the University Medical Center Groningen in Groningen, The Netherlands, he was Vice Resident Program Director, (Co)Director Cardiovascular Imaging Group Groningen, and Head of the Division of Vascular Surgery (Department of Surgery). Prof. Zeebregts served as a Board member and Secretary of the Dutch Society for Vascular Surgery, and within European Society for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (ESVS) and European Society for Cardiovascular and Endovascular Surgery (ESCVS) he held in several management and organizational positions. At the moment Prof. Zeebregts is the ESVS Councilor for the World Federation of Vascular Societies (WFVS) and Executive Committee Board member of the ESCVS. Prof. Zeebregts specialty interests include applied endovascular techniques (fenestrated/branched and thoracic stent grafting), carotid surgery (including initiator of carotid stenting program), vascular prosthetic graft infections, translational research after atherosclerotic plaque morphology, and new molecular imaging techniques. Professor Sherif Essam, graduated from Faculty of medicine, Ain Shams University in 1995. He obtained his Masters degree in general surgery in 1999, FRCSI (Fellowship of the royal college of surgeons in Ireland) in 2002, MD degree in 2004. Worked as a senior vascular registrar at University Hospital Galway, Ireland 2004-2006. Worked at the Vascular surgery department, Ain Shams University as a lecturer and as Assistant professor between 2007-2017. From 2017 to present, working as a Full professor of Vascular Surgery at Ain Shams University.
